What is an Endodontist?
An endodontist is a dentist who has trained specifically to diagnose and treat problems related to the inside of the tooth. An endodontist has completed dental school along with two to three years of advanced training in this American Dental Association-recognized specialty.
Endodontists diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of the dental pulp (the tissue within the root of the tooth) and of the related tissues. Not only do they perform routine procedures such as root canal therapy but also more complex procedures such as endodontic surgery. They are trained and experienced in diagnosing the cause of oral and facial pain.
